Good:  

There is a spacious book park in Central Metro displaying various types of books . There is also a meeting hall with chairs for literary gatherings. I understand it is a TN Govt initiative.. Inaugurated three months ago 👏👏👏👌👌👌

Bad: 

Higginbothams stall in Central station has shrunk to the size of two public telephone booths .  The space occupied by it has been usurped by food stalls and a saree stall.

Worse: 

Truncated CMBT handling Vellore and Bangalore now has plenty of food stalls but not a single shop selling magazines or newspapers ...

Positive and Growth - good or bad

 Life is sometimes ironical. 

We always say *Be positive*  .. 

But we dread the statement when it comes to medical diagnostic test results where negative is only welcome  

Same way *Growth* is a positive trait be it spiritual or materialistic as long as it is not in body cells  under malignant category ..

Change Management

 People are having active discussions on "Sanipeyarchhi" - transtion of Saturn in the zodiac cycle and its effects and parikarams (mitigators)...

I can't help thinking of the following ..

"The Change" in the environment/economy/culture over the years and the adverse impact on those who refuse to change and learn new things and positive impact on those who accept the change and also acquire new skillsets.

"Change Management" is the name of the Game ..

Exactly, I thought the same way initially because to save most of
the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision
most people would make, morally and emotionally. But, have you ever
thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in
fact made the right decision to play at a safe place?
> Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant
friends who chose to play where the danger was. This kind of dilemma
happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics
and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often
sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish
or ignorant the majority are, and how farsighted and knowledgeable
the minority are. The child who chose not to play with the rest on
the operational track was sidelined. And in the case he was
sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.

would not try to change the course of the train because he believed
that the kids playing on the operational track should have known
very well that track was still in use, and that they should have run
away if they heard the train's sirens. If the train was diverted,
that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the

use probably because it was not safe. If the train was diverted to
the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at
stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one
child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these
few kids. While we are all aware that life is full of tough
decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty
decisions may not always be the right one.

Terrorism & Rapism - Root Cause Analysis

 This Term, "Root Cause Analysis" is very popular and very effective in corporate circles.... to ensure prevention or recurrence of incidents which are non-conforming nature. Unless the Root Cause is Identified and addressed the incidents (non-desirable happening) may /will continue to happen....

Terrorism and Rapism are two extremely disturbing acts uprooting the mental peace of many many many . globally.

Yet, all of us talk are for Capital punishments and Life imprisonment.... only .

While I am not against these punishments as a deterrent ( though only to a limited extent), but am of the firm opinion that none of these punishments is going to stop , in future, from the occurrence of the heinous crimes.

Are we going into the mind of the rapist before executing him or putting him behind the bars , with the help of psychologist or even through the process of hypnosis or whatever means ...

If you are laughing / feeling angry at this thought, ask yourself why this heinous crime has not stopped

Are we taking the "fight to the enemy camp"?

Are we taking the message of Love to the opposite camp?

This will define the scope of the terrorism. The former will sustain while the latter will stop

New Year Resolutions

New Year Resolutions are often cited as an example for short lived Phenomena.. 

On a serious note, if one is serious about a new year resolution let us say he/she wants to pick up a new good habit, it has to be approached differently. 

Currently it starts with a thought process and the actual implementation commences on the new year..

Preparations should actually begin much earlier like let us say like the preparations for a marathon ..

So start practicing what you think , as a new year resolution, NOW... As you approach 1st January 2021, the HABIT would have become internalized and embedded in you.

This way... you become a a Success Case of New Year Resolution..

A tale of Two Seas

Sitting in the Geography class in school, I remember how fascinated
I was when we were being taught all about the Dead Sea.

As you probably recall, the Dead Sea is really a Lake, not a sea (and as my Geography teacher pointed out,
if you understood that, it would guarantee 4 marks in the term paper!)

Its so high in salt content that the human body can float easily.
You can almost lie down and read a book!
The salt in the Dead Sea is as high as 35% - almost 10 times the normal ocean water.
And all that saltiness has meant that there is no life at all in the Dead Sea.
No fish. No vegetation. No sea animals. Nothing lives in the Dead sea.

And hence the name: Dead Sea.

While the Dead Sea has remained etched in my memory,
I don't seem to recall learning about the Sea of Galilee in my school Geography lesson.
So when I heard about the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea and the tale of the two seas - I was intrigued.

Turns out that the Sea of Galilee is just north of the Dead Sea.
Both the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea receive their water from river Jordan.
And yet, they are very, very different.

Unlike the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee is pretty, resplendent with rich, colorful marine life.
There are lots of plants. And lots of fish too.
In fact, the sea of Galilee is home to over twenty different types of fishes.

Same region, same source of water, and yet while one sea is full of life, the other is dead.
How come?

Here apparently why. The River Jordan flows into the Sea of Galilee and then flows out.
The water simply passes through the Sea of Galilee in and then out -
and that keeps the Sea healthy and vibrant, teeming with marine life.
 
But the Dead Sea is so far below the mean sea level, that it has no outlet.
The water flows in from the river Jordan, but does not flow out.
There are no outlet streams. It is estimated that over 7 million tons of water evaporate
from the Dead Sea every day. Leaving it salty. Too full of minerals. And unfit for any marine life.


The Dead Sea takes water from the River Jordan, and holds it.
It does not give. Result? No life at all.
 
Think about it.
 
Life is not just about getting. Its about giving.
We all need to be a bit like the Sea of Galilee.
 
We are fortunate to get wealth, knowledge, love and respect.
But if we don't learn to give, we could all end up like the Dead Sea.
The love and the respect, the wealth and the knowledge could all evaporate.
Like the water in the Dead Sea.
 
If we get the Dead Sea mentality of merely taking in more water,
more money, more everything the results can be disastrous.
Good idea to make sure that in the sea of your own life, you have outlets.
Many outlets. For love and wealth - and everything else that you get in your life.
Make sure you don't just get, you give too.

Open the taps. And you'll open the floodgates to happiness.

Make that a habit. To share. To give.
 
And experience life. Experience the magic!

Systematic Investment Planning

Some prudent investors resort to Systematic Investment Planning which is nothing but  setting aside a fraction of the earnings EVERY MONTH and invest in equities .. 

Over the years (if the time frame is LONG ENOUGH) ( Warren Buffet says "time" and not the "timing" is the key to his success) the investments
grow  (beating the vagaries of stock market) into a mini-fortune. 

Compared to those who are NOT investing and spending away the money, or NOT investing sufficiently, these people are very smart.

However these materialistic fortune cannot be carried over with individuals as they negotiate DEATH.

THE SMARTEST lot, also invest in what I call KARMIC INVESTMENT PLANNING. These people allocate one portion of their earnings in SIP or Systematic Investment Planning and one portion of the earning in KIP or Karmic Investment Planning.

SIP takes care of the needs, in the future, in this lifetime
KIP takes care of the needs, in the future, in the subsequent lifetimes. The fortunes of KIP are ported across lifetimes...

Karmic Investment Planning  is setting aside a portion of the earnings , every month, and invest in the fulfillment of the basic/essential needs of the needy underprivileged strangers.

If I can borrow a phrase from "Financial Investments" sector,  KIP is a "FUTURE"s option with a Long Payback Period (cutting across lifetimes) , DERIVED from Current investments...

it could, as well be, the person is working for an IT(ES) company offshore Center supporting Americas...

and they are striving to establish a Grand Unification Theory pointing that even and protons and Neutron and Electrons are made of a still fundamental particle called Quark ...

Whenever people talk of multitudes of Demi-GODs in Sanadhana Dharma  I am always reminded of 118 elements
Three supreme GODS  Brahma Vishnu and Siva remind me of Protons Neutrons and Electron 
Quarks which are elusive to date remind me of  "Brahman"  ( no to be confused with Brahma, GOD of creation)
