Einstein and Hesienberg

Einstein believed in "deterministic" theory and was strongly articulating that everything in GOD's creation worked like a precise clockwork everything clearly (pre)defined.

Hence he rejected Heisenberg's uncertainty principle which hinges on probability theory with a famous remark," I do not think GOD plays Dice"

Heisenberg retorted," Do not advise GOD what to do"

Churchill

Once a MP, who happened to be a fierce lady, in the opposition bench, swore at the Prime minister Winston Churchchil," I f you were my husband i will give you a cup of poison"

Churchill retorted, " If you were my wife I will drink it very happily"

Disreli and Gladstone

Disreli and Gladstone were the parlimentarians in British parliment in the yesteryears. Their animosity is very famous and will go for each other at every opportunity.

Once one of them cursed the other publicly during a parlimentary session," You will die either by gallows or Veneral Disease"

The other quickly retorted,"It depends whether I embrace your principles or your mistress"

Guidance

When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
And everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
Both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
Or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully..
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
And attentiveness from one person
And gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "U" and "I".
"God, "U" and "I" dance."
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
That I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
And mercies are upon you on this day and everyday
May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
And to guide you through each season of your life.
So let's continue to pray for one another.
And I Hope You Dance !

Shakespere and traffic safety

To be or not to be is the question? - William Shakespere

I had used this quote for a slogan contest on traffic safety.

To be or not to be is the question
Slower or Faster is the solution.

yet another one

Being fast will make you merry
in the road you will end up as curry

1983 World cup heroes me too - for few

It just reminds me of an incident during May 83.
It was the day of Cricket World cup Finals.
I was in Hyderabad in my brother's house.
On that day morning our TV failed.
Few families (mind you there were couple of beautiful young girls) in the neighbourhood, were dependent on this TV set for watching the grand Finale.

Focus shifted on me.

After all I have completed 4 years (of 5 years) in Electronics & Communication Engineering and supposed to know 80% of everything electronics ( TV radio...) So I am supposed to service and make TV set good. (I could not say TV is not my elective subject ) So I did what best I could think of under the given circumstance.
I demanded for a screw driver opened the cover of TV set and cleared all the dust inside. I put the cover back and switched the set 'ON'
Bravo! It started working normally.
None of them believed that I have not done anything.
They thought that I had actually serviced (& trying to be modest).
Any way we enjoyed the Indian victory thoroughly .

One question - unfogettable

Sometimes one question can transform you into an expert in perception, though in reality may not necessarily be true.

It happened to me in my college days.

There was one question I asked during a seminar in our college which fetched me a title of 'Quantem Mechanics' expert. In reality,..........

Topic of the seminar was: Molecular computers

Question I had asked was : Approaching molecular dimensions, is it not true that Heiseneberg's Uncertainty principle comes into the picture leading to statistical decision errors?

Let there be light

'Let there be light'
Besides being a biblical citation, it was the implication of Charles A Kao and A G Kockham when they presented the mathematical basis for fiber optic communication in the year 1960..

This was my opening statement in my first ever intercollegiate seminar on ' The challenge of the optical systems' presented at CIT coimbatore in Feb'84.

PS Kao won Nobel Prize in 2009

Lessons from One Day Cricket

Lessons from One Day Cricket

_______________________________________________________________________________

Situation A

Team A had to score 300 runs in 50 overs. The opening batsmen were

overcautious. They were waiting for“perfect” loose balls to score a

boundary. They also felt that as there was a good “middle order” down

the line, there was no need to worry.

At the end of 25th over, 190 runs were needed in 25 overs.

Two wickets had fallen. Pressure was mounting on the middle

order batsmen as the "asking rate" was scaling new peaks.

Situation B

Team B had to score 305 runs in 50 overs. The opening

batsmen had a clear game plan. The batsmen will rotate the

strike and will put runs on the board from the word “GO”.

They will contribute their bit without pushing the

responsibility to “middle order”.

At the end of 25th over, 140 runs were needed.

Two wickets had fallen. As the "asking rate" was kept under

control, the middle order batsmen were quite cool

Which team would have won the game quite comfortably?

Obviously Team B.

What was the “key” to the Success ?

"PACE THE INNINGS"

***************************************************************************************

Arun, an electronics and Communications Engineer, aged 23, had just joined a Multinational Company. He had decided to “pick” the lessons from “One Day Cricket”. He had decided to “pace” the savings (read “investing”) from the day “ONE”, instead of pushing it to the Middle age, so that there will not be an “undue” pressure, at a later stage.

He had a two pronged approach. He had taken a “Term Assurance”, the lowest cost Insurance, in the interest of his family, with a 30 year term. He had also taken a “Personal Pension Plan” with a deferment period of 30 years. Having addressed two basic risks of life (“dieing too young” wherein the family suffers due to loss of breadwinner’s income and “living too long” wherein the family feels the burden due to cost of healthcare in the non-earning phase), Arun had the “peace of mind” to enjoy the life.

A smart little girl

One day a little girl went with her mother to a super market owned by her mother's friend.

The owner of the supermarket asked the little girl to pick some chocolates from the display.

The little girl politely declined the offer.

The owner of the supermarket again asked the little girl to pick some chocolates emphasising that her mother would not object to her.

The little girl's mother nodded and encouraged to pick some chocolates.

The little girl politely declined the offer, again much to the amusement of both the ladies.

Finally the owner picked some choclates and offered to the little girl.

The little girl happily accepted this time.

Intrigued by her daughter's behaviour, while returning to their home, the mother asked the little girl, reason for declining the offer of the aunty(owner of the supermarket) earlier and accepting choclates given by her later.

The little girl replied: If I had taken the chocolates myself I would have got fewer choclates. Because I declined, aunty picked the chocolates with her hands which are larger and I got more.

(PS For those who believe GOD: If you do not seek any boons from GOD, you will end of getting more than what you would have got otherwise If you have sought for some boons.)

Three gems on Buddha's last day

One of the devotee of Gautama Buddha met Buddha on his last day. It was let known to the world that it was Gautama Buddha's last day.The devotee asked Gautama " In your presence every difficulties used to dissipate; We used to be at ease. What will we do after you depart from this world?

Gautama the Buddha smiled and uttered the following words.

Buddham Saranam cachami

Buddham saranam cachami

Keep the company of Buddha (or Enlightened). Each enlightened person is a Buddha. By (If you are) having the company of an enlightened person (or Buddha) your problems or sorrows will melt away.

To this, the devotee reacted: What if I cannot find an enlightened person in life? what will happen to me ,then?

Gauthama Buddha smile again and uttered the following words.

Dhammam Saranam cachami

Dhammam Saranam cachami

Keep the company of the teachings of the Buddha (or enlightened)

Be It "The Bhagavath Gita": Be it "The Bible"; Be it "The Koran"; Be it Granth Sahib.

Have the company of the Holy books (teachings of great person(s)) of your choice and follow them in your life and see your problems melt away.

Still unsatisfied, the devotee asked: What if it is not possible to keep the company of the teachings of Buddha or if it is difficult to follow them?

Gautham Buddha smiled again at the devotee and uttered the following words.

Sangam Saranam cachami

Sangam Saranam cachami

Keep the company of like (right) minded people.

In case of difficulties in following the first two advice, try the third advice. Keep the company of the right minded people and solutions to your problems will emerge automatically.
