Divorce

A judge was interviewing a woman regarding her pending divorce, and asked, "What are the grounds for your divorce?"

She replied, "About four acres and a nice little home in the middle of the property with a stream running by."

"No," he said, "I mean what is the foundation of this case?"

"It is made of concrete, brick and mortar," she responded.

"I mean," he continued, "What are your relations like?"

"I have an aunt and uncle living here in town, and so do my husband's parents."

He said, "Do you have a real grudge?"

"No," she replied, "We have a two-car carport and have never really needed one."

"Please," he tried again, "is there any infidelity in your marriage?"

"Yes, both my son and daughter have stereo sets. We don't necessarily like the music, but the answer to your questions is yes."

"Ma'am, does your husband ever beat you up?"

"Yes," she responded, "about twice a week he gets up earlier than I do."

Finally, in frustration, the judge asked, "Lady, why do you want a divorce?"

"Oh, I don't want a divorce," she replied. "I've never wanted a divorce. My husband does. He said he can't communicate with me!"

The monk and his secret

A man is driving down the road and breaks down near a monastery. He goes to the monastery, knocks on the door, and says, "My car broke down. Do you think I could stay the night?"

The monks graciously accept him, feed him dinner, and even fix his car. As the man tries to fall asleep, he hears a strange sound; a sound like no other that he has ever heard. The next morning, he asks the monks what the sound was, but they say, "We can't tell you because you're not a monk."

The man is disappointed but thanks them anyway and goes about his merry way. Some years later, the same man breaks down in front of the same monastery.

The monks again accept him, feed him, and even fix his car.

That night, he hears the same strange mesmerizing sound that he had heard years earlier.

The next morning, he asks what the sound was, but the monks reply,

"We can't tell you because you're not a monk."

The man says, "All right, all right. I'm dying to know.

If the only way I can find out what that sound was is to become a monk, how do I become a monk?"

The monks reply, "You must travel the Earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of sand pebbles. When you find these numbers, you will become a monk."

The man sets about his task. Some forty-five years later, he returns and knocks on the door of the monastery. He says, "I have travelled the Earth and devoted my life to the task demanded and have found what you had asked for. There are 371,145,236,284,232 blades of grass and 231,281,219,999,129,382 sand pebbles on the earth.

The monks reply, "Congratulations, you are correct, and you are now considered a monk.

We shall now show you the way to the sound."

The monks lead the man to a wooden door, where the head monk says, the sound is behind that door.

The man reaches for the knob, but the door is locked. He asks, "May I have the key?"

The monks give him the key, and he opens the door.

Behind the wooden door is another door made of stone... The man requests the key to the stone door.

The monks give him the key, and he opens it, only to find a door made of ruby. He demands another key from the monks, who provide it. Behind that door is another door, this one made of sapphire. And so it went on until the man had gone through doors of emerald...

...silver, topaz, and amethyst.

Finally, the monks say, "This is the key to the last door."

The man is relieved to be at the end. He unlocks the door, turns the knob, and behind that door he is astonished to find the source of that strange sound. It is truly an amazing and unbelievable sight ....

Geetha Chapter 7

Courtesy: Sunandha Parthasarathy

Verse 15
The evil-doers, the deluded, the lowest of men do not seek ME; they whose wisdom is destroyed by illusion follow the ways of demon

Verse 16
O Arjuna! four kinds of virtuous people worship Me.
the 'arta' (distressed)
the 'jijnasu' (seeker of knowledge)
the 'artharthi' (seeker of wealth)
and
the 'jnani' (wise). O Bharatarsabha

Verse 17
of them, the 'jnani' (the wise)
ever steadfast with single-pointed devotion excels
for
I am extremely dear to 'jnani' (the wise)
and he is dear to me

Verse 18
Noble indeed are all these, but 'jnani' (the wise) , I deem as Verily Myself, for steadfast in mind, he is established in Me alone, as the supreme goal.

Verse 19
At the end of many births, the man of wisdom reaches Me realizing that all is 'Vasudeva' (Reality).such a great soul is very difficult to find

Verse 20
Those deprived of wisdom approach other Gods through various desires resorting to corresponding rites led by their own nature

Verse 21
Whatever Form a devotee seeks to worship with 'Sraddha' (faith) I make that 'Sraddha' (faith) of his unswerving

Why forgiving makes good sense?

If someone has done grave injustice to us, we keep fuming over it. We carry a grudge against him. we keep on carrying it on our mind. what is the fallout?
a) Physiologically speaking, our BP goes up and causes damage to our health system
b) Spiritually speaking it starts a new Karmic cycle

Hence it makes good sense to forget and forgive ..... and be happy today and move to eternal bliss of liberation from the cycle of birth - death - birth - death ........ eventually.

If you are light
you will not be tight
so there will never be a Fight
That will lead to Misery's Flight

Child asked God

"The child whispered, 'God, speak to me'
And a meadow lark sang.
The child did not hear.

So the child yelled, 'God, speak to me!'
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the child did not listen.

The child looked around and said,
'God let me see you' and a star shone brightly
But the child did not notice.

And the child shouted,
'God show me a miracle!'
And a life was born but the child did not know.

So the child cried out in despair,
'Touch me God, and let me know you are here!'
Whereupon God reached down
And touched the child.

But the child brushed the butterfly away
And walked away unknowingly. "

Something to think about as its gets
TIME TO GET THAT BUTT MOVIN' (and don't brush away the butterfly)

Working for God on earth does not pay much,
but His Retirement plan is out of this world.
Help someone have a nice day,
